Kalamazoo, MI May 3, 2018 – The Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra is proud to present the final concert in their three-year exclusive partnership with Disney - Disney's original The Jungle Book, in concert. Families are invited to join the KSO as they present this classic, animated film in high-definition on the big screen while the charming and delightful score, by composer George Bruns, is performed live by symphony musicians under the direction of Maestro Daniel Brier.

KSO welcomes final Music Director Candidate, Julian Kuerti, to podium for KSO Season Finale concert - Beethoven and Prokofiev - May 19, Miller Auditorium

Kalamazoo, MI May 2, 2018 - The Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, with guest conductor Julian Kuerti, close the 2017-18 symphonic season with the music of Beethoven and Prokofiev. The Eroica Trio, the most sought-after trio in the world, perform Beethoven's Triple Concerto. After intermission, Maestro Kuerti conducts Prokofiev's thrilling Symphony No. 5. The American premiere of this symphony was so popular, a portrait of Prokofiev was featured on the cover of Timemagazine in November 1945.

Kalamazoo MI, February 8, 2018 - The Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra with guest conductor and Music Director Candidate, Andrew Grams, present an intimate program of masterworks from the First Viennese School (Mozart, Haydn, and Beethoven). The orchestra opens with Mozart’s Magic Flute Overture. Pablo Ferrández-Castro, an international rising star, performs Haydn’s Cello Concerto No. 1 in C Major. Maestro Grams concludes the program with Beethoven's exhilarating Symphony No. 7.

Kalamazoo, MI January 22, 2018 – The Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra presents the final Family Discovery concert of the 2017-18 season, once again in collaboration with Classical Kids LIVE!.  The KSO’s Family Discover Series concerts feature symphonic performances specially tailored to young children and their families. Tickets are only $5 each and include preconcert activities for the family!

Kalamazoo, MI October 12, 2017 – The Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra with guest conductor Donato Cabrera, presents a delightfully varied program for the second concert of its Symphonic Series, on Saturday, October 28, 2017. Gabriel Renteria-Elyea, the KSO’s own Principal Oboist, solos in John Williams' Oboe concerto. William McGregor, 2017 Stulberg International String Competition Gold Medalist, performs Bottesini’s second bass concerto. Maestro Cabrera opens the program with Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man and closes the program with Bruckner’s first masterpiece, the youthful Symphony No. 1.
