KSO On The Go

Every year, Kalamazoo Symphony ensembles perform for thousands of students throughout Southwest Michigan!

Programs are tailored to the age group and your teaching goals. Instrumental program directors may consider scheduling this program in conjuction with a series of Section and Ensemble Coachings. 


Grade Levels: K-12 | Different programs for elementary and middle/high school.

Scheduling: Up to two 30-(elementary) or 45-(middle/high school) minute performances, with 10 minutes between each performance.

Confirmation: You will receive an email confirmation of your date and performance time and an email reminder 2 weeks before the performance.

Fee: Although our KSO On The Go program is free for schools, travel fees may be applied depending on location. Please reach out to our Education Team for more information.

Registration: Registration begins August 26 and closes November 1 for every new school year.

  • Available times: 9 a.m.3 p.m.
  • Program length: 30-45 minutes each
  • Warm-Up Time:
    Please reserve the performance area for at least 10 minutes prior to the first performance so that the musicians can set up and let their instruments adjust to the room temperature.

Seating Time: Please plan to have students seated by the start time. (It's okay to have students enter while the musicians are warming up!)

Supervision: Teachers must be present at all times.

Grouping and Audience: Group students by grade or playing level for well-tailored programs. Please send information about your teaching goals and current activities two weeks in advance to help the musicians plan their program.
