MEDIA ALERT: KSO dedicates Friday, November 20 concert to victims of Paris attacks

Kalamazoo, MI November 16, 2015 – The Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra announces the dedication of its Friday, November 20, 2015 performance, Saint-Saëns and Shostakovich, in memory of those who perished in the recent terror attacks in Paris. Internationally revered French pianist, Pascal Rogé will perform French composer, Camille Saint-Saëns', Piano Concerto No. 5 and Maestro Raymond Harvey will conduct Shostakovich's popular Symphony No. 5.

The Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra presents Mozart & Haydn, Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 8pm

Kalamazoo, MI September 30, 2015– For their second symphonic series concert, the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra presents Mozart and Haydn. Guest conductor, Edwin Outwater makes his KSO debut leading a diverse program of contemporary and classical highlights. 

The concert opens with Nico Muhly's So Far So Good. One of today’s most celebrated young composers, Nico Muhly (b. 1981) is a composer of chamber music, orchestral music, sacred music, opera, ballet, and music for collaborators across a variety of fields. So Far So Good alludes to the classical ideals of Mozart and Haydn while exploring contemporary musical language.

The KSO presents Family Discovery Concert - Beethoven Lives Upstairs - Sunday, October 4, 2015 at 3pm

Kalamazoo, MI September 25, 2015: For their first Family Discovery concert of the season, the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra presents Beethoven Lives Upstairs. The KSO is proud to partner with Classical Kids LIVE! this season. The Classical Kids LIVE! concert series is dedicated to fostering an appreciation for classical music and music history, as well as community enrichment through the pairing of professional artists, actors and family-focused programming with local symphony orchestras. The concert will begin promptly at 3pm following the Kushner & Co. Instrument Petting Zoo at 2pm and Meet the Conductor at 2:40pm in the reception room.

KSO Kids In Tune Program receives Getty Education and Community Investment Grant

Kalamazoo, MI March 25, 2015 – Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra is one of only twenty-two orchestras from across the United States selected by the League of American Orchestras to receive Getty Education and Community Investment Grants. The grant was awarded to develop the orchestra's Kalamazoo Kids in Tune program, and is a recognition of the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra's innovation and dedication to increasing its relevance to the community.
