KALAMAZOO, Mich., Sept. 5, 2018 – Schirmer Theatrical, LLC, and Greenberg Artists are proud to present the world premiere of “Revolution: The Beatles Symphonic Experience,” with the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra (KSO) on Dec. 1, at Miller Auditorium in Kalamazoo. “Revolution” is the first authorized, symphonic experience for The Beatles, featuring never-before-seen photos from the official Beatles Book Photo Library in London, alongside stunning new video and animation created by award-winning creative video designer Charles Yurick.

Conducted by Grammy® Award-winning arranger and “Revolution” co-producer, Jeff Tyzik, the KSO and top vocalists will present his restorative arrangements that were re-created from the original Abbey Road master recordings. Single tickets for the symphonic experience go on sale to the general public on Sept. 12, 2018.

Guests will be greeted upon arriving at the concert by a collection of life-size photos from the official Beatles Book Photo Library displayed in the Miller Auditorium lobby. Additionally, special edition copies of “Looking Through You: Rare & Unseen Photographs from The Beatles Book Archive,” will be available for sale.

“All of us at Schirmer Theatrical are delighted to partner with the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra to introduce the ‘Revolution’ experience,” said Robert Thompson, President and Creative Producer of Schirmer Theatrical. “Concertgoers will encounter The Beatles in an entirely new way through arrangements of more than 25 top hits. The KSO is the perfect partner for this introductory event.”

“The KSO is honored to participate in the first-ever presentation of ‘Revolution: The Beatles Symphonic Experience,’” said Peter Gistelinck, President and CEO of the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra. “The high caliber of our orchestra allows us to bring exciting events like this to the Kalamazoo community, and we can’t wait to entertain our audience.”

“Revolution: The Beatles Symphonic Experience,” is part of the KSO’s Zhang Financial Pops! Series. It replaces the previously programmed “Varèse Sarabande 40th Anniversary Gala,” which was cancelled due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts. Season subscription tickets previously purchased for “Varèse Sarabande,” will be honored for “Revolution.” The other concerts in the Zhang Financial Pops! Series include:

  • Paul Shaffer in Symphony,” Nov. 3, at 8 p.m., Miller Auditorium: Share an evening with the iconic “Tonight Show with David Letterman” musical director as he offers symphonic renditions of his favorite pop, R&B and jazz tunes.
  • Women Rock,” Apr. 12, 2019, at 8 p.m., Miller Auditorium: A co-production of Schirmer Theatrical and Greenberg Artists celebrating some of the biggest names in female singer/songwriter history, such as Carole King, Tina Turner, Janis Joplin, Minnie Riperton and Heart.
