Schuller's score evokes the art of Paul Klee in vivid clarity, while Ravel's orchestration of Mussorgsky's famous "Pictures at an Exhibition" finishes the program. Prokofiev's Second Violin Concerto allows orchestra and soloist to shine in this brilliant season opener.
