Kalamazoo, MI January 10, 2018 – The Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra presents the first two concert pairings in its popular chamber series—Classics Uncorked and Classics On Tap. KSO’s classics concerts feature an evening of chamber music favorites played by smaller ensembles of orchestra musicians. The concerts in the KSO’s Classics Series allow patrons to become better acquainted with classical music and KSO musicians in a more social and relaxed atmosphere.

This California based quartet, are not only one of the most sensational and timeless groups of the 1990’s, they have sold more than 20 million records worldwide and their success has spanned two decades.  The evening’s program will be announced from stage.

Kalamazoo, MI September 26, 2017 – The Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra is excited to present Star Wars: A New Hope Live in Concert October 12th and 13th. These performances will mark the beginning of the KSO’s exclusive three-year deal with Disney (announced March 31, 2017).  This performance, under the direction of Resident Conductor and Interim Music Director, Daniel Brier, will feature the full length iconic film on the big screen while the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra performs the thrilling score by the one and only John Williams.

This KSO commission brings together the incredible talents of internationally recognized composer Daniel Capelletti from Brussels, Belgium, up and coming Los Angeles playwright, Adam Pasen, award winning director, Ben Zylman and Lighting Director Kristen Chesak, both of Kalamazoo, MI.

The KSO is proud to partner with Classical Kids LIVE! this season. The Classical Kids LIVE! concert series is dedicated to fostering an appreciation for classical music and music history, as well as community enrichment through the pairing of professional artists, actors and family-focused programming with local symphony orchestras. The concert will begin promptly at 3pm following the Kushner & Co. Instrument Petting Zoo at 2pm and Meet the Conductor at 2:40pm in the reception room.
